Earth Explorer Photo Contest 2008 - Complete Contest Rules and Requirements
Eligibility - Geosoft Earth Explorer photo contest is sponsored and conducted by Geosoft Inc. It is open to all photographers 18 years of age or older, with the exception of all employees and their immediate families of Geosoft Inc.. Previously published images by Geosoft Inc are not eligible. All participants are eligible to win one prize or honorable mention. The Contest is open to participants who have reached the age of majority in their country/state/province of residence, excluding Quebec. No purchase necessary.
Judging - A panel of judges will select the winning entries. The judges' decision is final.
Designation of Winners - Winners will be notified of their win, within 30 days of judging, by e-mail. Please do not enquire about the status of your submission. Winning images will be published in the Earth Explorer magazine and online at www.earthexplorer.com
Publication Rights - Geosoft Inc. reserves publication rights of all contest submissions in its magazines (including covers), electronic media and product brochures. Images will not be sold or knowingly passed on to any third parties.
Claim of Ownership - Contestants must own all rights to the works submitted and are solely responsible for obtaining model releases, when applicable. As such, contestants hold the publisher and contest sponsors harmless from any breech of copyright in Canada, the USA, and elsewhere and from consequential litigation.
Responsibility - Special care is taken in the handling of all entries. However, Geosoft Inc. and sponsors cannot be held liable for loss, damage, or delays that may occur during digital transfer, transportation, or judging. Acceptance of Rules Participation in the contest indicates complete acceptance of the contest rules set forth herein.
Delivery of Prizes - All prizes will be shipped within 90 days of November 7, 2008. Where applicable, duty and customs fees will be the responsibility of prize recipients. Prizes are subject to substitution by product of equal or greater value without notice.
Competition Rules and Guidelines - Entrants will submit pictures relating to earth exploration by November 7, 2008.
Geosoft is awarding prizes for submissions that embody freedom to explore in the following categories:
- In the field: real life earth explorers exploring
- Exploration technology: Exploration field projects, technology, and equipment
- Exploration sites and landscapes
Maximum of 6 images per entrant. Geosoft awards one prize or honorable mention per entrant.
Dimensions - All submissions must be camera-original file(s), full-sized, the largest resolution possible, and uncropped.
